  • Bobcat baseball sweeps Culver-Stockton

  • In 35 degree weather, the Peru State baseball team won two games on Saturday, both in shut-out fashion with some excellent pitching over the visiting Culver-Stockton College Wildcats. The Bobcats took the first game 3-0 and then won the second game 11-0 with the game shortened to seven innings due to the mercy rule.

  • In 35 degree weather, the Peru State baseball team won two games on Saturday, both in shut-out fashion with some excellent pitching over the visiting Culver-Stockton College Wildcats. The Bobcats took the first game 3-0 and then won the second game 11-0 with the game shortened to seven innings due to the mercy rule.
    With the double header sweep, the Bobcats improved to 14-5 overall and 5-1 in Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) play. Culver-Stockton fell to 2-4 in the HAAC and 9-12 overall.
    Peru State is scheduled to play seven games next week. On Tuesday, the Bobcats will travel to Fayette, Mo., to take on HAAC opponent Central Methodist University. Presently, the Eagles are 8-12 overall and 2-4 in conference play.
    The only non-conference game of the week will be on Wednesday when the Bobcats host the Prairie Wolves from Nebraska Wesleyan University. Currently, the Prairie Wolves are 1-9 with their weekend games yet to be reported. Game time for the single game, nine-inning fray is 2 p.m. at the Centennial Complex Field.
    On Friday and Saturday, the Bobcats will be in Olathe, Kan., to play MidAmerica Nazarene University in a pair of double headers. Game time both days is scheduled at 1 p.m. At this time, the Pioneers are 11-8 overall and are 4-2 in the Western Division of the HAAC, the same division as Peru State.
