  • Attorney General Jon Bruning today announced Kim Henderson, 32, of Columbus pleaded guilty to one count of second degree murder in 2013 the death of Steve Jorgensen, 51. She faces a possible life sentence for the Class IB felony.

“Ms. Henderson and her co-defendants stabbed and killed Mr. Jorgensen after he defended himself against a robbery,” said Bruning. “This plea is the next step toward justice.”

Columbus police reported the three defendants agreed to go to Jorgensen’s home to rob him, and all three were present in the residence when the robbery turned violent and the victim began resisting. Jorgensen’s death was caused by multiple stab wounds.
Henderson is one of three individuals charged with murdering Jorgensen, and the second to enter a guilty plea. Quentin Critser, of Lincoln, pleaded guilty to one count of second degree murder in December 2013. Co-defendant Eric Henry is scheduled to stand trial in April.
