  • Men’s conference tournament basketball action gets underway later this week in the Big 10, Big 12 and Big East.
    The Nebraska men’s team is one of the top four seeds in the Big 10 Conference and will receive a first round tourney bye thanks to Sunday’s upset win over Wisconsin in Lincoln. Other teams in the Big 10 top four are No. 1 Michigan, No. 2 Wisconsin, and No. 3 Michigan State.
    Big 10 action opens with first round action on Thursday. No. 6 Iowa will play No. 11 Northwestern in the first round.
    Nebraska will play its first game of the tourney on Friday sometime between 2 and 3 p.m. on ESPN against the Thursday winner of No.  5 Ohio State and No. 12 Purdue.

    In other conferences of interest, the top seeds for the Big East tourney are No. 1 Villanova and No. 2 Creighton, which will open tourney play at 7 p.m. Thursday against the Wednesday winner of No. 10 DePaul and No. 7 Georgetown. See the complete Big East bracket here.
