  • The Heart of America Athletic Conference has announced its 2014 basketball all-conference teams.
    Peru State men’s players who made all conference were Nate Bohy of Mesa, Ariz. and Kody Kirkpatrick of Loami, Ill. Bohy, a 6-3 guard, was named to the HAAC's third team while Kirkpatrick, a 6-2 guard, earned honorable mention recognition. For Kirkpatrick, this was his second straight honorable mention honor.
    Bohy and Kirkpatrick were the Bobcats' top two scorers as Bohy finished the season with 20.7 points per game while Kirkpatrick averaged 14.2. Bohy also led Peru State in rebounds, averaging 6.43 boards per game and assists, dishing out 2.68 assists per game.
    The Peru State men recently wrapped up their season with a loss to Central Methodist. Peru State finished 4-14 in the HAAC and 9-19 overall.
    Bobcat junior women's basketball players, Shelbie Hess of Phoenix and Karlee Stuart of Las Animas, Colo. were named to the HAAC all-conference teams.
    Hess, a 5-9 guard, was named to the HAAC third team while Stuart, a 5-8 guard, earned honorable mention recognition. Peru State's leading scorer, Hess is averaging 16.1 points per game, while Stuart was the team’s second leading scorer with 12.6 points per game.
    The Peru State women's basketball team earned the seventh seed in the upcoming HAAC post-season tournament which begins Thursday.
