Lora J. Owens, 41, of Dunbar died Dec. 13, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born Lora Jean Creek on July 31, 1972 at St. Mary's Community Hospital in Nebraska City to Bill James and Lettie Jean (Bradley) Creek. She graduated from Nebraska City High School in 1990.
Lora stayed busy raising the children and tending to the needs of her family. She formerly worked at Wheaton Tubing in Syracuse, Subway and the Good Samaritan Care Center in Syracuse. She was a loving wife and mother.
She married Raymond E. Owens on May 5, 2003 at Rock Port, Mo.
She is survived by husband Ray Owens of Dunbar; children Robert Graham, Raymond Owens Jr., Dylan Owens, Christian Owens and Jaleigh Hansen; grandson Bendtley; father Bill Creek of Nebraska City; brothers Kevin Creek and wife Lori and Billy Creek and wife Andrea, all of Nebraska City; sisters Debbie Grenier of Casper, Wyo., and Stephanie Creek of Wright City, Mo.; mother-in-law Darla Owens of Havelock, N.C.; father-in-law Donald Owens of Lincoln; brothers and sisters-in-law Mike Owens and wife Kris of Havelock, N.C., Crystal Fossberg and husband Luke of Lincoln, and Steve Owens and wife Danelle of Syracuse; numerous nieces and nephews including Alexa Creek, Samantha Creek and Kevin Creek, Jr., other extended family and many friends.
She was preceded by son William Owens, mother Lettie Creek, sister-in-law Donnell Owens and grandparents Vearl and Neva Creek and Vern and Viola Bradley.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City with Rev. Dr. Norman Anderson of Calvary Community Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Dunbar Cemetery near Dunbar.
The family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Gude Mortuary.
