  • Viola M. (George) Badberg, 91, Talmage, died Dec. 6, 2013, at the Ambassador Care Facility in Nebraska City. She was born Nov. 3, 1922 in Brock to George J. George and Bertha Geese.

  • Viola M. (George) Badberg, 91, Talmage, died Dec. 6, 2013, at the Ambassador Care Facility in Nebraska City. She was born Nov. 3, 1922 in Brock to George J. George and Bertha Geese.
    She was raised on a farm outside of Brock and graduated from Brock High School in 1940. Viola married Merlyn Badberg on June 20, 1940 at Faith Lutheran Church in Talmage.
    Viola helped Merlyn on the farm, was member of the American Legion Auxiliary, member of ALCW, the Dorcas Circle, and taught Sunday school and bible school at Faith Lutheran.
    She enjoyed crocheting afghans and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
    Due to ill health she entered the Ambassador in Nebraska City.
    She was preceded by three brothers, four sisters, son Roger Badberg, and husband Merlyn.
    She is survived by daughter Carol Kowalski and husband Sam of Virginia Beach, Va.; son Mark Badberg and wife Carolyn of Cook; daughter-in-law Trudy Cooper and husband Clayton of Beemer; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
    A funeral service will be held Wednesday, Dec. 11, at 2 p.m. at the Faith Lutheran Church in Talmage.
    Burial will follow at the Grant Evergreen Cemetery southwest of Talmage.
    Hall Funeral Chapel of Auburn is in charge of arrangements.
