Carla Jane Bade, 66, of Nebraska City died at Duff’s Friendship Villa in Nebraska City on Dec. 6, 2013. She was born June 22, 1947 at Nebraska City to Arthur and Esther (Naber-Peters) Bade.
She is survived by half brother Edward Bade and wife Ann of Nebraska City; many cousins, relatives and friends.
She was preceded by her parents, step mother Darlene Bade, and sister Mary Ellen.
Carla’s mother died when Carla was a baby. Her step mother, Darlene (Grieswell) Bade, took care of her for more than 50 years. She lived in Dunbar before moving to Nebraska City in 1980. Carla moved to Duff’s Friendship Villa in 1998 when Darlene could no longer care for her. She loved spending time with friends at Duff’s and sitting outside at the gazebo. Carla was also an avid Nebraska Cornhusker Football fan and loved watching games on television.
She was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Talmage where she was baptized.
Funeral services are at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, at Marshall Funeral Chapel in Nebraska City with Rev. Glatha Rathjen of the Faith Lutheran Church in Talmage officiating.
Pallbearers are Cheryl Mills, Victor Bade, Jeremy Deaton, Chris Fossler, Glen Martin and Mike Mills. Burial is at Wyuka Cemetery in Nebraska City.
Memorials are suggested to Duff’s Friendship Villa.
Visitation is 1-9 p.m. Monday at Marshall Funeral Chapel in Nebraska City.
