KHN Center for the Arts in Nebraska City has scheduled a reception from 3 to 5 p.m. on Saturday Dec. 7, for the artists of Impact Kooser.
The Impact Kooser exhibit includes works inspired by the works of United States Poet Laureate Ted Kooser.
Famed for their plain-spoken, homespun, and evocative nature, Kooser’s works have sparked a great variety of works by Impact artists ranging from December landscapes in porcelain and in oil paint, abstracted views of the seasons, sculptures in reclaimed metals and bronze, batik, pastel, watercolor, woodcut printing, collage, and mixed media.
All works will be displayed with the Kooser poem on which they are based.
The reception, held for the participating artists along with special guest Ted Kooser, is open to the public and is scheduled in conjunction with Nebraska City’s newest annual tradition, Yule Fest.
The reception and exhibition are free, handicap accessible, and all ages are welcome. The exhibition closes Thursday, December 19, 2013.
The Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts is located at 801 3rd Corso in Nebraska City.
