  • Alice Jorgensen, 95, of Nebraska City died at The Ambassador Care Center in Nebraska City Nov. 22, 2013. She was born Jan. 10, 1918 at Rock Springs, Wyo., to Arthur and Ada (Pitt) Radford. She married Ernest Jorgensen Dec. 21, 1943 at Chicago, Ill.

  • Alice Jorgensen, 95, of Nebraska City died at The Ambassador Care Center in Nebraska City Nov. 22, 2013. She was born Jan. 10, 1918 at Rock Springs, Wyo., to Arthur and Ada (Pitt) Radford. She married Ernest Jorgensen Dec. 21, 1943 at Chicago, Ill.
        She is survived by son John Jorgensen and wife Laurel of Pullman, Wash.; daughters Diane Blake and husband Barton of North Baltimore, Ohio, and Elaine Gebert of Nebraska City; two grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
        She was preceded by her husband in November of 1979 and grandson William Gebert.
        Alice moved to Omaha in 1944 where she taught school in the Omaha Public Schools for 24 years.  She moved to Nebraska City in 1984 to be closer to her family.  Alice was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nebraska City.  She volunteered many years at the Nebraska City elementary schools. She enjoyed reading and crochet.
        Graveside services are at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 29, at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Omaha.  A memorial service will be held in April 2014 at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nebraska City and will be announced at that time.
        Memorials are suggested to First Evangelical Lutheran Church.
        Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday with the family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m. at Marshall Funeral Chapel in Nebraska City.
