  • Peggy Ann Hall, 59, died Nov. 12, 2013 at Bryan West Hospital in Lincoln with her family by her side. She was born on Nov. 9, 1954 in St. Joseph, Mo., to Edward Eugene and Jeannie (Long) Hall.

  • Peggy Ann Hall, 59, died Nov. 12, 2013 at Bryan West Hospital in Lincoln with her family by her side.  She was born on Nov. 9, 1954 in St. Joseph, Mo., to Edward Eugene and Jeannie (Long) Hall.  
    Her family moved Nebraska City when she was  young. Peggy was baptized and confirmed at St Mary’s Catholic Church in Nebraska City.
    On May 12, 1971 she married Conrad Arthur Puppe at the Assembly of God Church in Nebraska City. He preceded her in death 11 months later.  On June 5, 1974, she married Paul J. Phillips in Falls City.  He also preceded her.
    In 1980 she moved to Houston, Texas, with her children and parents, and became a licensed cosmetologist.  In 1989 she moved with her children and parents to Nemaha, Nebraska, where she spent the remainder of her life.
    She worked in the local grocery store, was a cook in various restaurants in the surrounding area and cared for her mother. She served as a licensed EMT for the Nemaha Rescue Squad and as a member of the Nemaha Rural Fire District.  
    Peggy had a great love for animals and for the last 18 years was closely associated with the Nemaha County 4-H Club.  On her own she raised sheep, rabbits and dogs.  In 2002 she joined the Nemaha Christian Church.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Dennis Hall and John Long,  sister-in-law Ann Long, sister Lisa Dianne and “adopted sister” Donna Faulks.
    Survivors include her children Shawn (Brandi) Phillips of Auburn and Tabitha Wagner of Tecumseh; grandchildren Ethan, Carter, and Ellie Phillips and Alessandra and Ashton Wagner; brothers William Hall of Sabetha, Kan., David Hall of Tecumseh and Michael Hall of Nemaha; sister Mary Beth Hall of Nemaha and her daughters Cassie and Kasey; aunts Verna Hall of Auburn and Margaret (Donald) Hamm of Princeton, Ill.; many other relatives and friends.
    A funeral service was held Nov. 16 at Nemaha Christian Church in Nemaha, officiated by Rev. Kyle Paustian.
    Casket bearers were Bodie Faulks, Corky Faulks, Shane Wolken, Tim Standley, Steve Grooms, Jim Chaney, Josh True, and Tyler Greene.  Honorary bearers were John Montanelli and Phil Gerdes.  Burial was in the Prairie Union Cemetery near Shubert.
