  • Clarence Henry Beccard, 101, of Nebraska City died Oct. 25, 2013 at the Golden Living Center in Nebraska City. He was born Nov. 15, 1911 near Colome, S.D., to Louis and Emma (Dose) Beccard. He married Louise Vock Jan. 17, 1934 in Nebraska City. Louise died Nov. 12, 2010 after 76 years of marriage.

  • Clarence Henry Beccard, 101, of Nebraska City died Oct. 25, 2013 at the Golden Living Center in Nebraska City. He was born Nov. 15, 1911 near Colome, S.D., to Louis and Emma (Dose) Beccard.  He married Louise Vock Jan. 17, 1934 in Nebraska City.  Louise died Nov. 12, 2010 after 76 years of marriage.  
    Clarence was a farmer and cattle feeder all of his life, starting in Otoe County, and then moving to Cass County in 1947.  Clarence loved to travel.  He and Louise traveled to Canada, Mexico, Europe and all 50 states except Hawaii. They spent 29 winters in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas before moving to the Golden Living Center.  
    Clarence was involved in the American War Dads, Cass County Zoning Board, Ervin School Board, the Eagles and Elks.  He worked with R.S. Harris to organize the Union Rural Fire Protection District in 1962.  He was an active member of the Bethel United Church of Christ in Nebraska City and had served on the Church Council and Spiritual Council.  
    Survivors include sons Don and Janet (Eaton) Beccard of Bellevue, Norm and Carol (Reys) Beccard of Lake Waconda near Union, and Allen and Judy (Vest) Beccard of rural Union; grandchildren Ken and Joan Beccard, David and Kim Beccard, Roger and Kelly Beccard, Mike Beccard, Norma and John Nesci, Larry and Leslie Beccard, Bruce and Jamee Beccard and Chris and Lynn Noerrlinger; 20 great grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren; sister Helen Balderson of Elk Grove, Calif.; sisters-in-law Irene Beccard and Adelene Vock of Nebraska City; numerous nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.  
    Besides his wife, he was preceded by brothers Eldon and wife Geneva, Floyd, and Paul and wife Lois; brothers-in-law Don Balderson, Elmer Vock, Walter Vock, George Vock, Sterling Vock and Roy Neubauer; sisters-in-law Helen Neubauer, Marie Vock and Laurine Vock; nephew Lynn Neubauer and great nephew Brian Vock.  
    Funeral services will be 10 a.m.
    Tuesday, Oct. 29,  at Bethel United Church of Christ in Nebraska City with Rev. Rodger Good and Terry Weible officiating.  Visitations are 1-9 p.m. Monday at Marshall Funeral Chapel with the family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m.  Burial will be in the East Union Cemetery near Union.
     
    Pallbearers are Kenneth Beccard, David Beccard, Roger Beccard, Mike Beccard, Bruce Beccard and Larry Beccard.  
    Memorials are suggested to the Bethel United Church of Christ or East Union Cemetery.
