  • Norma Lee Stone, 82, of Nehawka died at the Nebraska Masonic Home - Plattsmouth on Oct. 6, 2013. She was born April 5, 1931 at Orleans, Neb., to Nels and Fern (Vahle) Thoren. She married Richard Stone on June 5, 1949 in Nehawka.

  • Norma Lee Stone, 82, of Nehawka died at the Nebraska Masonic Home - Plattsmouth on Oct. 6, 2013. She was born April 5, 1931 at Orleans, Neb., to Nels and Fern (Vahle) Thoren. She married Richard Stone on June 5, 1949 in Nehawka.
    She is survived by sons Keith Stone and wife Mary of Union and Roger Stone and wife Roxanne of Murray; daughter-in-law Kim Stone of Nehawka; grandchildren Jeremy Stone and wife Laura, Kelsey Burggraff and husband Jon, Kassie Lecci and husband Joe, Autumn Jones and husband Taylor, Dustin Stone and Austin Stone; great grandchildren  Makenzie Jones, Marley Jones, Morgan Stone, Wyatt Stone and Isla Lecci; sister-in-law Carol Hecox and husband Fred of Texas; many other relatives and friends.
    She was preceded by her husband March 23, 2004, son Rich, brother Francis Thoren and sister Ann Hoback.
    She helped her husband run the family farm. Norma was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Nehawka where she was a member of the United Methodist Women.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, baking, cooking, canning, making jelly, collecting recipes and traveling.
    Funeral services are at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, at the First United Methodist Church in Nehawka with Rev. Dorothy Smith and Rev. Samm Johnston officiating.
    Honorary pallbearers are Kassie Lecci, Autumn Jones, Kelsey Burggraff and Laura Stone. Active Pallbearers are Jeremy Stone, Jon Burggraff, Joe Lecci, Taylor Jones, Dustin Stone and Austin Stone. Burial is at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery – Nehawka.
    Memorials are suggested to First United Methodist Church in Nehawka.
    Visitation is 1-9 p.m. Monday at Marshall Funeral Chapel in Nebraska City.
