Iowa and Nebraska officials are searching for an Omaha man after a boat he put in the Missouri River turned up adrift downstream from Nebraska City.
The Otoe County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a boat adrift near the Missouri River bridge and enlisted the help of another boater at Riverview Marina to investigate.
The boat was brought to shore, but there was no sign of its occupant.
Fremont County sheriff's deputies and Iowa Department of Natural Resources searched the riverbank, finding the man's tent and campsite upstream near where the Weeping Water Creek empties into the river.
Officials say the man's last known contact with his family was Tuesday afternoon by cell phone.
