Despite their loss to the Benedictine College Ravens last Saturday, the Peru State Bobcat football team remain in the NAIA Football Coaches’ Top 25 Poll this week.
After dropping a hard-fought contest, by a score of 45-41 to the Ravens, the Bobcats only dropped one spot in the Top 25 from 23rd to 24th.
There were numerous changes in the poll with the exception of Morningside (Iowa) remaining on top with a 3-0 record.
Benedictine moved up three spots to seventh after their win over the ‘Cats and are now 4-0.
Two other Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) teams are also in the Top 25. The Missouri Valley College Vikings moved one spot to eighth, just behind Benedictine. Baker University also moved up one spot to 12th from 13th.
A fifth HAAC team, MidAmerica Nazarene University, is the first team just outside of the Top 25 as they are 26th with 15 total points.
The Peru State Bobcat football “home-away-from-home” tour will continue at 1 p.m. Saturday as the Bobcats play Avila University at Thomas Memorial Field in the Jug Brown Stadium in Falls City.
