  • Nebraska City police are warning citizens about an incident Tuesday where a caller asked for personal financial information to enroll a person for "Obama Care."
Police Chief David Lacy said the caller from Phoenix, Ariz., did not represent the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, the true name for what is called Obama Care. He said the federal government already has information such as Social Security numbers, ages, addresses and banks for its Medicare and Medicaide programs.
"If you are uninsured and someone calls claiming to enlist you into the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, be very careful with any information you provide as it may be an attempt to gain information to your identity," Lacy said.
