Marilyn L. Reiss, 83, of Crete died Sept. 15, 2013 at the Tabitha Nursing Center in Crete. She was born on Sept. 13, 1930 in Crete to Otto J. and Marie L. (Horstman) Feeken.
Marilyn lived her whole life in the Crete area. She loved to go for walks, never gave up on crossword puzzles and did not know a stranger. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She married Duane Reiss in 1950 and they farmed in the Kramer area for the next 50 years.
Marilyn is survived by her three children, Roxanne Larson of Springfield, Neb., Peggy and Bo Bojanski of Martell, Dann and Kathy Reiss of Crete; sisters Doris Carmen of Lompoc, Calif., and Jacqueline Shoemaker of Melbourne, Fla.; four grandchildren, Stacy Reiss, Heather Reynolds, Andrea Larson and Benjamin Larson; and four great grandchildren.
She was preceded by husband Duane, sister Donna Donnelly, brother Bob Feeken and son-in-law Rod Larson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials suggested to St. John’s Lutheran Church of Kramer.
Services will be held at the Gude Mortuary Chapel in Nebraska City at 10 a.m. on Oct. 7.
Burial will follow the services at Wyuka Cemetery in Nebraska City.
