Marjorie L. (Eaton) Crook, 91, of Nebraska City, formerly of Union, died Sept. 27, 2013, at the Duffs Friendship Villa in Nebraska City surrounded by her family. She was born on Nov. 11, 1921, in Union, to Rube H. And Ethel M. (True) Eaton.
She married Charles P. Crook on March 15, 1941, in Rock Port, Mo.
They made their home on a farm northeast of Union.
She enjoyed cooking, baking, helping on the family farm when needed and being with her family and friends. Marjorie was a member of the Methodist faith and the American Legion Auxiliary in Union.
She was preceded by her husband on Feb. 23, 1986, brothers "Junior" Rube Eaton, Jr. And Marvin Eaton, and granddaughter Jill Nadine (Hathaway) Jones on Jan. 19, 2009.
Marjorie moved to Nebraska City after her husband’s death.
She is survived by children Nancy L. Hathaway and husband Larry of Union, Mary S. Smith of Spokane, Wash., Leonard C. Crook and wife Peggy of Nebraska City and Larry A. Crook and wife Vicki of Nehawka; 14 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; brother; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.
Visitation is Monday, Sept. 30, from 1-8 p.m. The family will be greeting friends from 5-7 p.m. at Peterson Mortuary.
A celebration of the life service will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 1, at 11 a.m. at the Peterson Mortuary in Nebraska City. Burial will follow at the East Union Cemetery Northeast of Union.
Memorials are suggested to the choice of the family.
