Marianne Emma (Holscher) Freeman, 82, died Sept. 14, 2013 in Lewisville, Texas. She was born on March 17, 1931 to Edwin and Bertha Holscher at St. Mary’s Community Hospital in Nebraska City.
She graduated from Cook High School in 1948. Marianne married Raymond Freeman on June 15, 1948. They lived in Weeping Water before moving to Lewisville, Texas, to be near family in 1996.
She is survived by daughter Paula and her husband, Joel McWilliams, of Highland Village, Texas; son Steven Freeman of Lewisville, Texas; sister Verna and husband Lynn Holliman of Tyler, Texas; sister-in-law Margaret Holscher of Sanford, Fla.; grandchildren Jeff McWilliams and wife Megan, Lori Moore and husband Jeremy, Stephanie (Freeman) Horn and husband Matt, all of Texas, and Josh Kucera and wife Sarah and Dana Skidmore and husband Roger of Nebraska; great grandchildren Trevor and Ryan Moore and Autumn and Derrick Skidmore; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded by brother Merlin and husband Raymond.
Marianne was the church organist and pianist for the Congregational Church in Weeping Water for 32 years and taught piano for over 20 years.
She was also a bookkeeper for Hopper Brother Quarries for 12 years. She enjoyed cooking and throwing parties for friends, family and church.
She was a member of the Jr. Women's Club and many times helped out with voting in Weeping Water. She enjoyed her family and especially the grandchildren.
During her years in Texas, she was a member of Crossroads Bible Church, along with her two children.
A memorial service will be at the Congregational Church in Weeping Water at 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 30.
