(Omaha, Neb.)- A traffic enforcement selective on the West Dodge Expressway in Omaha Thursday night led to several citations for an Omaha motorcycle rider.
Just after 7:30 p.m., Thursday, September 5, the Nebraska State Patrol airplane was assisting troopers on the ground with a traffic enforcement selective when the pilot clocked a black Yamaha motorcycle traveling 130 mph on the West Dodge Expressway.
A trooper attempted a traffic stop on the motorcycle, which sped away reaching a speed of 140 mph. The Nebraska State Patrol airplane continued to follow the motorcycle from the air for approximately seven minutes before the driver came to a stop at a residence at 3102 North 161st Street.
Troopers contacted the driver, Benjamin R. Maenner, 20, Omaha, at the residence and cited him for speeding, willful reckless driving, stoplight violation, no insurance and no registration.
