Rose Mary Blevins, 75, of Nebraska City died Sept. 1, 2013 at the Ambassador in Nebraska City. Rose Mary was born on March 10, 1938 in Nebraska City to William A. and Joyce M. (Rawlings) Hawthorne. She married Charles E. Blevins on Sept. 28, 1962 in Nebraska City.
She worked as a housemother at the Nebraska City Visually Handicapped School and as a nurses aide for numerous years at the Nebraska City Manor before her retirement in 2001.
She is survived by husband Charles E. Blevins of Nebraska City; daughter Joyce Yost and husband Fred of Nebraska City; sons Rick Swaink of Lincoln and Mike Swaink and wife Trish of Omaha; six grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; sisters Clarissa “Sis” Goff of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Barb Newburn of Plattsmouth; numerous nieces and nephews; other family and many friends.
She was preceded by half brother Floyd and sisters Lela, Charlotte, Castle and Clara.
Funeral services are Thursday, Sept. 5, at 10:30 a.m. at Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City; burial will follow in the Wyuka Cemetery.
The family will greet friends from 7-8 p.m. Wednesday at Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City.
