  • Walter Earl Noerrlinger, Jr. was born November 19, 1922 to Walter Earl Noerrlinger, Sr. and Helen (McCue) Noerrlinger near Lewiston, NE. He went to be with our Lord on August 29, 2013 at the age of 90 years.

  • Walter Earl Noerrlinger, Jr. was born November 19, 1922 to Walter Earl Noerrlinger, Sr. and Helen (McCue) Noerrlinger near Lewiston, NE. He went to be with our Lord on August 29, 2013 at the age of 90 years.
    He married Bernice Hopp on November 28, 1945 at St. Paul’s UCC Osage, Cook, NE. To this union were born two sons, Doyle & Bruce and one daughter Diane Probst. Walter and Bernice were blessed with nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. He loved his family.
    He was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ all of his married life. He graduated from Cook High School in 1940. He served as a school board member for Cook High School and was a Church Board member for St. Paul’s UCC at Cook.
    He was a dedicated farmer, farming in Cook area most of his married life. He also liked visiting the farmers when he sold seed for Dekalb beginning in 1972. After a few years of off time, he began selling again for Monsanto.
    He loved to talk about shucking corn by hand, which he began doing while in high school during Thanksgiving vacations and doing it along with his Dad and later shucking on his own. He had a well trained team of horses. He enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, and did some woodworking after moving into Cook.
    He is survived by wife Bernice, children Doyle & wife Carol (Smith), Nebraska City, NE; Bruce & wife Diane (Hayes) Cook, NE; and Diane & husband Steve Probst of Omaha. Nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchild; three sisters, Doris Stohlman, Fae & husband Leonard Haveman, Ruby & husband Richard Wilson, two brothers Chester & wife Betty, and Robert & wife Verneel, Sister-in-law Arvilla (Mrs. Don) Noerrlinger.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Ruth Doeden, Joan Haveman and Jean Bock, two brothers, Donald & Darrell, and five brothers-in-law Fritz Doeden, Gale Bock, Kenneth Kelso, LeRoy Haveman and Ellsworth Stohlman.
    Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday September 3, 2013 at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ (Osage) at 10:30 A.M. in Rural Cook, NE.
    Burial will be at St. Paul’s UCC Cemetery (Osage).
    Visitation will be Monday September 2, 2013 from 9 A.M. until 9 P.M. with family greeting friend from 5 until 7 P.M. at the funeral home.
    Memorials are suggested to St. Paul’s United Church of Christ (Osage.)
