Rosie L. Morris, 83, of Talmage died at Duff's Friendship Villa – Nebraska City on Aug. 28, 2013. She was born Dec. 4, 1929 on the family farm near Paul to Ernest and Augusta (Huss) Burger. She married Lynn Carter Morris Feb. 10, 1956 at Bethel United Church of Christ in Nebraska City.
She is survived by sons Allen Morris and Ronald Morris, both of Talmage; brother Albert Burger and wife Rose Marie, sisters Clara Heng, Helen Niebruegge and husband Harold, and sisters-in-law Maxine Burger and Esther Morris, all of Nebraska City; special friends Maelynn Bassinger of Nebraska City and Shilah Martin of Dunbar; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded by her husband on March 23, 2008; brother Harry Burger; brothers-in-law Leonard Heng and Harold Morris; and sisters-in-law Blanche Micke, Leola Bischoff, Evelyn Schmidt and Margie Conaway.
She was a homemaker and worked with her husband on the farm for many years.
She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church where she was always volunteering. She was a former Sunday school teacher and member of the Altar Guild. She loved raising chickens, canning, playing cards, gardening and sharing her produce.
Funeral services are at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, at the Faith Lutheran Church in Talmage with Rev. Glatha Rathjen officiating. Burial is at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery near Talmage.
Memorials are suggested to the Talmage American Legion Post No. 246 and the Talmage Fire & Rescue.
Visitation is 1-9 p.m. Friday at Marshall Funeral Chapel in Nebraska City.
