  • Attorney General Jon Bruning today announced former Hemingford police chief Mark Lindburg was sentenced 20 to 24 years in prison for one count of attempted first degree sexual assault of a child, a Class II felony. He pleaded no contest to the charge last month in Box Butte County District Court.

He pleaded no contest to the charge last month in Box Butte County District Court.
     
    “This man engaged in sexual relations with an underage girl while on duty,” said Bruning. “Today’s sentence ensures he is held accountable for his reprehensible crime.”
     
    Assistant Attorneys General Matt Lierman and Kale Burdick are handling the case.
