Construction improvements at roadway intersections with the Union Pacific Railroad in Nebraska City are resulting ins street closures.
The railroad began work Tuesday near North Table Creek intersections.
Wednesday morning, intersections at Eighth Street and 19th Street were closed.
Nebraska City Utilities had been working on an electrical line at Sixth Street last week and closed the bridge for two days to improve the sanitary sewer line crossing.
Utility Manager Leroy Frana said two poles will be set and electric line restrung, but one-lane traffic should be maintained.
The road closings Wednesday morning were marked with barricades, but without detour suggestions.
Cheri and Madison VanScyoc of Sidney, Iowa, parked at the softball complex and walked across Business Highway 75 to 19th Street.

VanScyoc said a detour sign would have be helpful because she did not know that 10th Street was still open to traffic.
Drivers who used 10th Street this morning to get to Northside School may find it closed Thursday.
