LeRoy Fredrick “Butch” Obermeyer, Sr., 76, of Syracuse died in Lincoln on Aug. 15, 2013. He was born on a farm in rural Syracuse on July 7, 1937 to Henry and Kate (Fahrenholz) Obermeyer.
Butch married Shirley Ramold on Sept. 29, 1959 in Sidney, Iowa. He worked at Eastern Public Power until it changed to Omaha Public Power District. He worked as a mechanic for 37 ½ years. He also farmed and drove a truck for Elson Wiles. He was a member of Luther Memorial Lutheran Church and the Eagles Aerie 968 in Nebraska City. Butch enjoyed playing cards, fishing and hunting.
He is survived by wife Shirley of Syracuse; children LeRoy “Butch” Obermeyer Jr. of Murray, Larry (Joan) Obermeyer of Syracuse, Christine Mounce of Syracuse, Lonnie (Susan) Obermeyer of Syracuse, and Lisa (Greg) Berner of Lincoln; grandchildren Chelsea and Tawni Mounce, Blake and Kali Berner, Bailey, Taylor and Jessica Obermeyer, Ryan Shannon, Tony and Rachel DeSanti, and Nick and Jake Eisenhauer; great grandchildren Skylar DeSanti, Mickenna and Quinn Shannon; mother-in-law Helen Ramold of Nebraska City; sister Doris Berry of Lincoln; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Larry and Nancy Ramold of Lubbock, Texas; nieces; nephews and friends.
He was preceded by brother-in-law Thomas Berry, father-in-law Lawrence Ramold, aunts and uncles.
Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 19, at 10:30 a.m. at the Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Syracuse.
Burial was at Park Hill Cemeter
y in Syracuse. The family suggests memorials to the family’s choice.
