Mary Jane Clark, 72, died at UNM Hospital in Albuquerque, N.M., Aug. 4, 2013. She was born Nov. 20, 1940 in Nebraska City to Anton and Margaret (Mueller) Sasse. She graduated from St. Bernards Academy in 1959. She married James E. Clark on Feb. 15, 1966 at St. Benedict Church in Nebraska City. They moved to Roswell, N.M., in 1975.
Mary Jane was a seamstress and worked at Levi Strauss for 20 years until Levi closed its doors. She continued working as a secretary/office manager for a trucking firm.
Her pastimes included sewing dolls, clothing for children for her local church and crocheting afghans for gifts. She was most active in her church as a Eucharistic minister, helping with prayer services for funerals, planning receptions and assisting with the food pantry.
Mary is survived by her children Greg (Teresa) Clark, Brian (Deborah) Clark, both of Albuquerque, Scott (Tina) Clark of Roswell and Shelly (Jon) Botch of Twin Falls, Idaho; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters Pauline (Ken) Kreifels of Nebraska City and Madeline Sasse of Casper, Wyo.; and brother Ed (Cleora) Sasse of Nebraska City.
She was preceded by husband Jim and infant sister Kathleen.
A rosary was held followed by Mass at St. Peter’s Catholic Church and burial, both in Roswell.
