  • Maxine Marie Romjue, 96, of Lincoln died at Southlake Village in Lincoln Aug. 5, 2013. She was born July 25, 1917 in Marshalltown, Iowa, to Charles F. and Lillian (Mayer) Johnson. She married Earl S. Romjue on Nov. 26, 1936 at Wheeling, Mo.

    She is survived by sons  Lawrence C. Romjue and wife Carolyn of Lincoln, Edwin E. Romjue and wife Donna of Bellingham, Wash., Milton K. Romjue and wife Jo of Papillion; grandchildren Lawrence C. “Chip” Romjue, Jr. and  wife Holly of Lincoln, Elizabeth J. Schott and husband Brent of Lincoln, Anne K. “Kit” Romjue and John Jennings of Lincoln, Scott E. Romjue and wife Shara of Bellingham, Wash., Curtis E. Romjue and wife Grace of Seattle, Andrew M. Romjue and wife DeAnn of McCordsville, Ind., Amanda J. Bowden and husband Vincent of Bel Air, Md., and Ann M. Erickson and husband Paul of Lincoln; great grandchildren Trevor Romjue, Madison Romjue, Brooke Romjue, Erica Schott, Dia Jennings, Cole Erickson, Eli Erickson, Ty Erickson, all of Lincoln, Hagen Romjue, Nash Romjue and Capri Romjue of Bellingham, Harper Romjue and Malia Romjue of Seattle, Grant Romjue and Lillian Romjue of McCordsville, and Claire Bowden and Alexa Bowden of Bel Air, Md.; and many other relatives and friends.
    She was preceded by her husband on May 9, 1999, three sisters and one brother.
    She lived in Marshalltown, Council Bluffs, Nebraska City and Carlsbad, N.M., moving to Lincoln in 1999.
    She formerly worked as a deputy clerk of the district court in Otoe County. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star, P.E.O. and the First United Methodist Church.
    Funeral services are at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10 at Marshall Funeral Chapel in Nebraska City with Rev. Sara Malone officiating.
    Pallbearers are grandchildren.
    Burial is at Wyuka Cemetery in Nebraska City.

    Visitation is 9:30 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
