Dorothy Elaine Stehlik, age 86 years, 11 months and 18 days, of Nebraska City, Nebraska passed away Saturday, August 3, 2013 at the Ambassador in Nebraska City, Nebraska, surrounded by her family.
Dorothy Elaine Rogers was born on August 15, 1926, in Lincoln, Nebraska, to Dale A. and Mary (Harmon) Rogers. Dorothy grew up in Lincoln, graduated fromLincoln High School, and attended the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. On March 12, 1950, in Lincoln, Nebraska, Dorothy married Norman Stehlik. That same year they moved to Nebraska City, Nebraska, which became their home and where they raised six children. Dorothy was a homemaker and active in the family business, Norman’s IGA.
Survivors of Dorothy include her children: Fritz and Charlene Stehlik of Omaha, Nebraska; Mitzi Hobackof Nebraska City, Nebraska; Steve and Kelli Stehlikof Columbia, Illinois; Jim and Carol Stehlik of Nebraska City, Nebraska; Bill and Chanda Stehlik of Bellevue, Nebraska; and Pip and Jennifer Stehlik of Platte City, Missouri; 17 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Page 2 of 2 - Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2013, from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Peterson Mortuary.
A Celebration of the Life of Dorothy Elaine Stehlikwill be held on Wednesday, August 7, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Nebraska City, Nebraska. The burial will follow the service at the Wyuka Cemetery in Nebraska City, Nebraska.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest Memorials to the Norman and Dorothy Stehlik Memorial Scholarship Fund, or to the First United Methodist Church.
