Frank M. Thomas, 72, of Elkhorn, formerly of Nebraska City, died July 20, 2013, while on a fishing trip in O’Neill. He was born on July 8, 1941 at St. Mary’s Community Hospital in Nebraska City to Charles and Geneva C. (Long) Thomas. He graduated from Nebraska City High School in 1960. He then attended Milford Community College for two years.
Frank married Lois J. Webber on June 19, 1965 in Syracuse. He worked at Dimatic Die & Tool Co. in Omaha for 47 years. He was a shop foreman there and well known in the tool and die industry. He enjoyed his job and was a dedicated worker.
He is survived by wife Lois J. Thomas of Elkhorn; children April Jensen and husband Joel of Elkhorn and Andrew Thomas and wife Jennifer of Buckner, Mo.; grandchildren Haley Jensen, Braeden Thomas and Christian Thomas; sister Barbara J. Brown of Nebraska City and brother-in-law Paul Greene of Nebraska City; other family and friends.
He was preceded by sister Carol Greene.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 25, at Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City with Rev. Robert Hayden officiating. Burial will follow at Wyuka Cemetery.
The family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 24 at the Gude Mortuary.
A memorial fund is being established in Frank’s memory.
