A Nebraska State Patrol traffic stop on Highway 75 June 22 led to the seizure of four pounds of marijuana, $980, a bag of cookies with marijuana cooked into them and a loaded Colt 1911 .45 caliber handgun.
Court records indicate that a state trooper stopped a Toyota Tacoma driven by Steven C. Rowland, 59, of Gastonia, N.C., and searched the vehicle after the driver admitted to having marijuana in a cooler in the backseat of the pickup.
Rowland is charged in Otoe County with possession of firearm, intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of money related to prohibited acts and no drug tax stamp.
Court records indicate that Rowland told the state trooper that he was on vacation and was coming from Reno, Nev., where he had gambled at casinos.
The state trooper reported that Rowland did not have a medical marijuana card.
