Theodore G. “Ted” Brannon, 71, of Nehawka, died June 29, 2013 at Bergan Mercy Medical Center in Omaha. He was born March 14, 1942 at Nebraska City to Theodore R. and Goldie (Lindsey) Brannon. He married Karen Kruger Nov. 25, 1977 at Auburn.
He is survived by wife Karen Brannon of Nehawka; son David Morton and wife Tracy of Nehawka; daughter Sheryl Jordan and husband Dan of Casper, Wyo.; six grandchildren, Cortney Graham and wife Annie, Christopher Graham, Kaitlyn Jordan, Rachel Morton, Sarah Morton and Matthew Morton; great grandchildren Chayse Graham and Cainen Graham; sister Carolyn Murdoch and husband Cecil of Manley; numerous nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.
He haas lived in the Union and Nehawka area his entire life. He was a livestock farmer and member of Nebraska Cattlemen’s Association, Nehawka American Legion Post No. 157 and Nebraska City Eagles Aerie No. 968.
He enjoyed raising livestock, farming and attending his grandchildren’s activities.
He served six years in the Nebraska Army National Guard
Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, at the First United Methodist Church in Weeping Water with Rev. Sandy Webster officiating.
Honorary pallbearers are his grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Duane Murdoch, Charles Hammons, Roger Balfour, Lee Turner, Lee McGinnis and Rick Nolte. Burial is at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery – Nehawka.
Memorials are suggested to the Nehawka American Legion Post No. 157, Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Nehawka Volunteer Fire Department or Nehawka Rescue Squad.
Visitation is 1-9 p.m. Monday at Marshall Funeral Chapel with the family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m. Nehawka American Legion Post No. 157 will provide military services.
