    Lincoln. She was born Jan. 11, 1956 in Syracuse to Ernest and Imogene Bro. She
    graduated from Syracuse-Dunbar-Avoca High School in 1974.

    Lincoln. She was born Jan. 11, 1956 in Syracuse to Ernest and Imogene Bro. She
    graduated from Syracuse-Dunbar-Avoca High School in 1974.
        She worked at NRD, Northern Natural Gas and was owner of Bits & Pieces Framing & Matting. She married Guy (Andy) Brace on March 21, 1987, in Corning, Iowa.
        She is survived by husband Andy Brace, Syracuse; mother Imogene Bro, Syracuse; sisters Peggy and Larry Neemann, Syracuse, Teresa and Bruce Liesemeyer, Unadilla, Patti and Ron Rumery, Lincoln, Bonnie and Karl Johnson, Washington; nieces and nephews Rob and Linda Johnson, Klarissa and Kaylee of Columbus, Jason and Lori Berner, Kody, Logan and Mitchell of Waverly, Christa Neemann, Syracuse, Makaela Rumery, Arvada, Colo., Jordan Rumery and Jax, Lincoln, Sarah Johnson, Pasco, Wash., and Shandra Johnson, Washington; mother and father-in-law Guy and Joan Brace, Corning, Iowa; sister-in-law Teresa Brace and Lindsey, Des Moines; brother-in-law Keith and Kathleen Brace and Huck, Des Moines; niece MaKayla and Nathan Nemmers and Avery, Brooklyn Center, Iowa; aunts and uncles Erma Meyer, Verena Gellermann, Syracuse, and Shirley and Clyde Skinner, Cameron, Mo.; many cousins and friends, and her beloved dogs, Simon and Scooter.
        She was preceded by father Ernest Bro; grandparents Fred and Ethel Bro, Ernest and Clara Gellermann; aunts and uncles: Elmer Gellermann, Harvey and Maxine Gellermann, Ernst Meyer.
        She was talented in every aspect of the arts, from all forms of needlework to woodcarving, painting, stained glass, matting and custom framing, drawing, calligraphy, water  color, sewing, and summer projects with her nieces and nephews. She also loved gardening and flowers, bird watching, and collecting antiques.
    Joni and Andy's many dogs and cats were their kids — Poncho, Kyra, Frodo, Rusty, Alfie, Casey, Simon, Scooter, Callie, Calvin and Carly.
        Pallbearers are nieces and nephews: Rob Johnson, Jason Berner, Shad Berner, Makaela Rumery, Jordan Rumery and Christa Neemann.
    Honorary pallbearers are great-nieces and great-nephews: Klarissa and Kaylee Johnson; Kody, Logan, and Mitchell Berner; Lilly Windhorst and Titus Berner; Jax Connely; LindseyBrace; Huck Brace; MaKayla and Avery Nemmers.
        Funeral Mass is Thursday, June 27, 10:30 a.m. at St. Paulinus Catholic Church, Syracuse.
    Visitation is Wednesday, June 26, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with Rosary at 7 p.m. at the funeral home, 644 Park St. Syracuse.
        Memorials are suggested to St. Paulinus Building Fund, or family's choice.
