  • Sherry E, Napier, 68, of Nebraska City died June 14, 2013, at St. Mary’s Community Hospital in Nebraska City surrounded by her family.
    Sherry E. King was born on Feb. 7, 1945, in Omaha to Earl M. and Lloydine M. (Betts) King. Sherry grow up in Omaha and graduated from high school there.
    Sherry gave birth to three children: Ray, Renae and Randy, from previous marriages.
    She moved to Nebraska Cityin the 80's, where she held many different jobs, which included working at Arnie’s Bakery and later as the First Presbyterian Church secretary, where she was a member. Sherry enjoyed baking and cooking for her family and friends.
    She was preceded by her parents.
    Survivors include her sons Ray Green of Nebraska City and Randy Vaughan of Sabetha, Kan.; daughter Renae Rains of Largo, Fla.; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild;  brother Tom King and wife Jane of Herman; sisters Jeri Aken and husband Mike of Omaha and Katie King of Moline, Ill.; nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.
    Sherry was cremated. There will be no visitation to be held at Peterson Mortuary.
    A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, June 20, at 11:30 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Nebraska City. The burial of Sherry’s ashes will be held at a later date at the Wyuka Cemetery in Nebraska City.
    Memorials are suggested to the choice of the family.
