Roby D. Lamb, 80, of Syracuse died at Syracuse Good Samaritan Society June 9, 2013. He was born Jan. 23, 1933 at North Platte to Fred R. and Nina M. (Carey) Lamb. He married Colleen F. Kastens July 8, 1960 at First Lutheran Church (North Branch) – Avoca.
He is survived by wife Colleen Lamb of Syracuse; children Susan Lamb of Lincoln, Kevin Lamb of Otoe, Kurtis Lamb and wife Iris of Cedar Creek, and Keri Hall and husband Eddie of Louisville; seven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
He was preceded by sister Sharon Lamb.
He retired from Lucent Technologies in 1990.
He was a member of Springfield Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M.. He enjoyed thoroughbred horse racing, fishing, hunting, tennis, golf and cards.
Funeral service is at 11 a.m. Friday, June 14, at First Lutheran Church (North Branch) – rural Avoca with Rev. William Dressen officiating.
Pallbearers are Merlin Kastens, John McKenzie, Travis VanLaningham, Christopher Hall, Cassidy Lamb, Konner Lamb.
Honorary pallbearers are Robi Lamb, Kiley Everson, Keshia Lamb, Noah McKenzie, Brandyn VanLaningham, Izic McKenzie.
Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Organist is Lori Lindau and vocalist is Diane Kastens.
Memorials are suggested to the family’s choice.
Visitation is Thursday, June 13, from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. with family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
