  • Nemaha Natural Resources District crews have worked to reopen the flooded sections of the Steamboat Trace trail north of Brownville this week. However, the section from Brownville south to the Cooper Nuclear Station is still soft, so caution is advised on that stretch. Visitors can, therefore, now access the entire 22 miles of the former railroad right-of-way from Brownville to Nebraska City. Updates on the status of the trail will be made available on the NRD’s website www.nemahanrd.org, or contact the office at (402) 335-3325 (after hours a recorded message will provide updates).
