Lincoln evangelist Ed Collins brought his "heal our land" outreach to Nebraska City Friday asking people to remember Jesus Christ and the sacrifices of military service that allow us to be free.
Collins, 61, plans to carry the cross in Nebraska City, Shenandoah and Clarinda before heading to his former hometown of Hamburg, Iowa.
A 1970 graduate of Hamburg High School, Collins said his spiritual journey and acceptance of Jesus as Lord of his life delivered him from alcoholism 28 years ago.
"There were many well-meaning Christians who laid hands on me and prayed for healing. One day I prayed for forgiveness from the sin of alcoholism. I wasn't sick. I was a sinner," he said.
He said following his conversion he was led into street ministry.
