  • Nebraska City attorney David Partsch and Lincoln attorney Graham Jura are finalists for the Nebraska City attorney duties.
    Partsch has been Otoe County attorney since 2007.
    He previously worked for a law office in Norfolk and as legal counsel for the Nebraska Commission of Industrial Relations.
    He graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Law in 1999.
    He has been active with the Nebraska City Community Foundation, Rotary, science fair, library foundation, First United Methodist Church, Arbor Day Committee, Ambassador Wellness Center and Nebraska City Downtown Development group.
    Jura has been in private practice at Jura Law Offices since 2011.
    He was formerly an assistant city attorney in St. Joseph, Mo., and assistant public defender in Missouri.
    He was contract administrator for a Sprint broadband agreement.
    His work for the city of St. Joseph included delinquent tax actions, labor union disputes and negotiating a landfill methane agreement with Kansas City Power and Light.
    The city council is planning to conduct final interviews with the candidates in open session.
    The city received 18 applications. A committee of attorney Bill Davis, City Administrator Joe Johnson, Mayor Jack Hobbie and citizen Pat Friedli narrowed the candidates to two.
