Hellen R. Hager, 76, of Nebraska City died Monday, April 22, 2013 at the Ambassador in Nebraska City. She was born on June 13, 1936 in York to George A. and Novilla J. (Brown) Campbell. She grew up in the York area, married and had three sons.
Over the years Hellen worked at many jobs including as a cashier/accountant for Bozarth Chevrolet in Denver, Colo. She moved to Nebraska City from Texas in 2006 to be closer to her family.
Hellen is survived by her three sons: Doug Hager and wife Pat of Arvada, Colo., Greg Hager and wife Shelley of Nebraska City and Ron Hager of Omaha; special niece who was like a daughter, Angie Tweedy and husband Kyle of Kansas; six grandchildren: Nichole Hager, Mick J. Hager, Kelsey Hager, Tori Hager, Eric Hager and wife Sarah, and Laura Wheelock and husband Cody; six great-grandchildren: Anjelika and Domanik Rivera, Addison, Isabelle and Elliana Hager, and Alana Wheelock; three step-grandchildren: Rachel Spah and husband Chad, Lindsey Pinney and Colton Pinney; four step-great-grandchildren: Charlotte and Jacob Spah and Sailor and Harbor Johnson; siblings Joan Maul of Illinois, Annabelle Maxfield and husband Don of Kearney, Donny Campbell of Phoenix, Ariz., and Kelly Campbell of Geneva; other family and friends.
She was preceded by sisters Maggie Heironymus and husband Bud and Millie Conway.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, at the First United Methodist Church in Nebraska City.
