Rita Roos, 92, of Nebraska City died May 7, 2013 at the Golden Living Center in Nebraska City. She was born on March 21, 1921 at rural Nebraska City to John and Emma J. (Friede) Heuser. She graduated from Nebraska City High School in 1937.
She married Alvin F. Roos on Feb. 25, 1940 at the Heuser home southwest of Nebraska City.
Rita worked at the former Woolworth’s Store in Nebraska City for 31 years. She was a member of the Bethel United Church of Christ in Nebraska City for 79 years.
She is survived by son Larry A. Roos and wife Sheri of Loveland, Colo.; daughter Barbara K. Roos of Lawrence, Kan.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; other family and many friends.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Alvin Roos, on Jan. 25, 2011.
Memorial services will be held Friday, May 10, at 11 a.m. at Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City with Rev. Rodger Good officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Wyuka Cemetery at Nebraska City.
No visitation or viewing will be held.
