Lucille J. Thormahlen, 92, of Nebraska City, died May 1, 2013 at the Ambassador in Nebraska City. Lucille Johanna (Fritsch) Thormahlen was born on July 9, 1920 in Sterling to John and Margaretha “Maggie” (Woerlen) Fritsch.
She worked for the former Campbell Soup Company in Tecumseh, Duff’s Friendship Villa in Nebraska City in the laundry department, St. Mary’s Community Hospital in housekeeping and she also did janitorial work for some 35 years at the former Medical Clinic in Nebraska City. She also was a substitute house parent for Region V Services.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her children Karen DeHart and husband Mike of Nebraska City and Roger Thormahlen and wife Nancy of Burr; grandchildren Tina Richardson and Tara Buss; five great-grandchildren: Thies Richardson, Jordyn Buss, Case Richardson, Jayden Buss and Lane Richardson; other family and friends.
She was preceded by sister Bertha Joekel.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 7, at Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City. Pastor Lyn Seiser will officiate. Burial will follow in the Wyuka Cemetery.
The family will greet friends from 6-7:30 p.m. on Monday, May 6, at Gude Mortuary.
Memorials may be given to the Burr Methodist Church.
