News to know
A student at an all-male parochial high school outside of Cincinnati reportedly tried to commit suicide by shooting himself in class, according to the Associated Press. The school was immediately locked down as a precaution, but authorities do not believe there was any threat to the other students. The school's director of community development said the student is "fighting for his life," though no other information about his condition has been released. A priest was sent to the hospital where the student was taken. Additional counselors were sent to the school to talk to students, while police are interviewing classmates of the student to try to learn more about his motives. Officers also plan to meet with school officials to re-examine their security plan.
