CITY BLESSED WITH FINE DINING

Nebraska City has always been blessed with some great dining places..even way back in the late 40's and early "50's..Ill try to remember the top 15-20 that i can remember..a lot of these i remember since i delivered the News-Press to most of these.ALL are gone now.

DEANS CAFE..Dean and his wife ran Deans cafe  for many years in the same location between 11th and 12 on the southside of the street..He was a tremendous booster for Pioneer and Big Red sport

BARRETT CAFE..just another cozy little diner located next door to the Masonic Lodge building.Great rolls

GRAND HOTEL..Merle Stephenson had a dining room in the Grand Hotel..He was an expert at taking care of all all the coffee klatches at that time

CLUB CAFE.three doors down from the old Knoll Country Store..excellent food
