  • Nebraska City Area Economic Development announced April 10 that New Tech Properties has purchased property in the city's oldest industrial development area.
New Tech purchased about two thirds of the Red Fox Run industrial site, which extends from Industrial Road to a creek and railroad tracks south of the soccer fields. The EDC retains ownership of the soccer fields and parking lot and EDC director Stephanie Shrader said the fields will remain.
"Our group is committed to preserving the soccer fields for as long as the community needs them," she said.
Shrader said the soccer fields are located on a flood plain, but the parking lot to the north is not.
Brandon Olson, owner of New Tech Construction, previously owned five acres connecting the remaining area to Industrial Road.
Shrader said the land acquisition gives the company an opportunity at expansion.
"New Tech Construction has been a part of the Nebraska City business landscape for many years and we are excited about this expansion of one of our own businesses," she said.
Red Fox Fun, which has been in city ownership since the 1970s, comprised of 65 acres prior to the sale.
She said the North Industrial Site will be a major focus for future development.
