Are you trying to cut calories? You might want to reconsider that afternoon pop. Not only do sugary drinks contribute no nutrients to your diet, but can potentially lead to weight gain. Cutting back on sugary drinks can help reduce calories, and achieve a healthy weight. Think about this: a 12 ounce glass of orange juice has approximately 180 calories; which is the same as eating three chocolate chip cookies. Drinking a 12 ounce pop every day for a year can equal 55,000 calories, or 15 pounds a year. Pop also has double the teaspoons of sugar as most sports drinks.
