.There are so many areas in and around Nebraska City and the area..There is the beautiful Waubonsie Park just 12 miles across the river..Picnicking, sightseeing, even cabins for rent..APPLE ORCHARDS..... Nebraska City has always been known as the apple center of Nebraska...The finests in apples, cider and much more to be found.

.....Many years ago even my dads parents, the Alonzo and Daisy Hoskins family had orchards and nursery supplies all around the area along with other orchards in the area..My cousin, the late Jerome Keran and I spent many hundreds of hours in our orchards, then coming back to town and running and  facing the apples, cherries, peaches and strawberries in our orchards..selling many to buyers in the Old Market area of Omaha-- still one of the most visited places in Nebraska today, day in and day out.
