  • After falling short in both halves of an April 6 doubleheader at Benedictine College in Atchison, Kan., the Bobcat baseball team roared back, scored 26 runs and routed Benedictine in both halves of an April 7 doubleheader.
    Benedictine College beat the Bobcats 6-5 and 9-4 on April 6 before Peru State picked up wins by scores of 10-1 and 16-3 a day later. In other recent action, Peru State beat Nebraska Wesleyan, 7-5 on April 4 and split a doubleheader at home against Central Methodist on April 3, losing by the count of 6-2 and winning by the score of 8-2.
    Counting the results from last week, the Bobcats are now 15-15 overall and 8-8 in Heart of America Athletic Conference play.
    Peru State is scheduled to return to action at 6 p.m. Wednesday for a nine-inning game against the Midland University Warriors at Nebraska City.
    Other games coming up on the schedule include back-to-back doubleheaders against Avilla University in Kansas City on April 13 and 14. Game times are 1 and 3 p.m. on both days.
    The Bobcats will play Baker University in back-to-back home doubleheaders on April 20 and 21. Game times are 1 and 3 p.m. on both days.
