  • Glen William Stubbendick, 88, of Syracuse died April 4, 2013, at Community Memorial Hospital in Syracuse, surrounded by family. He was born on Jan. 6, 1925 in rural Avoca to Henry and Clara (Hauschild) Stubbendick. He married Margaret Berner on June 5, 1946 at First Lutheran Church.

  • Glen William Stubbendick, 88, of Syracuse died April 4, 2013, at Community Memorial Hospital in Syracuse, surrounded by family. He was born on Jan. 6, 1925 in rural Avoca to Henry and Clara (Hauschild) Stubbendick. He married Margaret Berner on June 5, 1946 at First Lutheran Church.
    Glen was a lifelong member of First Lutheran Church and loved his Church. He was known for being a loving and gentle husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend.
    He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Margaret; children Suzy Palmer (Bill), Barbara Lamb (Ken), Mary Parker (Brad), David Stubbendick (Robyn), and Ann McCarthy (Dave); daughter-in-law Moreen Stubbendick; grandchildren Stacey Carnazzo (Andrew), Brian Palmer, Ryan Stubbendick (Jacki), Mitchell Stubbendick (Kelsey), Matthew Glen Lamb (Lisa), Kelly Stephenson (Craig), Kyle Parker (Emily), Travis Parker, Joshua Glen Stubbendick (Amanda), Hillary Stubbendick, John Stubbendick, Megan McCarthy and Alec McCarthy; 16 great grandchildren; brother Ralph (Jane); brothers-in-law Roy Berner (Imo) and Ellis Liesemeyer; and sister-in-law Pauline Hauschild (Allen).
    He was preceded by son Gene, brothers Dale and Earl and sisters Sophie Ruge and Janet Liesemeyer.
    Funeral services were held Monday, April 8, at 10:30 a.m. at First Lutheran Church with Rev. William Dressen officiating.
    The family suggests memorials to the South Sudan Water Project or First Lutheran Church.
    Arrangements were by Fusselman Allen Harvey Funeral Home, Syracuse.
