  • Auburn woman veers off highway to avoid collision with stopped traffic

  • An Auburn woman sustains minor injuries Sunday night when her Volvo S60 left Highway 75 and hit an embankment.

    Nadine Gail Yoesel, 19, was northbound five miles south of Nebraska City at 8:55 p.m. when she came upon slow moving traffic.

    A 2010 Dodge Journey minivan driven by Leigha Joice Orton, 20, of Sabetha, Kan., was behind two vehicles.

    The first vehicle was slowing to turn onto county Road O.
    The Volvo clipped the rear left of the van, crossed the southbound lane, continued down a slope, struck an embankment and struck a second embankment before coming to a stop.
