  • Nebraska City plans two weeks of Arbor Day events

  • Nebraska City's Arbor Day run, dog show and public art project are adding an additional week to Arbor Day celebration activities.
    The 2013 schedule for April 26-28 includes fly-in breakfast, crafts, chili cook-off, garden show, parade and tree plantings.
    They will be preceded April 20 with a run/walk, Paws for a Cause and public art unveiling.

    • Ribbon cutting at Kregel Windmill Factory Museum, 3 p.m.
    • Chili cookoff and community music festival at high school, 5-8 p.m.
    Sat., April 27
    • Honoree tree planting at Arbor Lodge, 10 a.m.
    • Home and garden show at Eagles Club.
    • "Dig itt. Plant it. Grow it" parade
    • Mayhew Cabin flea market
    Sun., April 28
    • Community tree planting at Lewis and Clark center.
    • Jaycee Fly-in breakfast
    • Arbor Day open at Wildwood Golf Course
