Leva Berg, 93, of Nebraska City, formerly of rural Talmage, died Friday, March 29, 2013 at the Ambassador in Nebraska City. Leva was born on Oct. 4, 1919 on a farm in Johnson County (4.5 miles north of Graf) to Alye and Anna (Bischoff) Berg.
In 1925, the family moved to a farm south of Talmage. She attended Spring Valley Rural School and graduated from Talmage High School in 1936. She continued to live on the family farm with her parents, brother and sister during her adult life.
In August of 2007, she entered the Ambassador in Nebraska City where she continued to reside until her death.
She was preceded by her parents, an infant brother, brother Lourin in 1988 and sister Laverne in 2010.
She is survived by many cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 1, at Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City with Pastor Glatha Rathjen officiating. Burial will follow the services at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in rural Johnson.
